From Smart AI Tools to Ingredient Innovation and Sustainability
Dear ,
Innovation, sustainability, and industry collaboration continue to drive exciting developments at Elea.
This month, we invite you to join our upcoming PiCon webinar for an exclusive first look at a new generation of AI-powered process monitoring tools, explore how a newly granted patent could open new possibilities for flavour infusion in snack products, and discover how our long-term partner BK bio is using PEF technology to sustainably produce high-value health ingredients.
We also look back on a busy event season, where our teams and partners connected with customers and showcased the latest advances in PEF technology around the world.
Enjoy the latest news from Elea!
Last Chance to Join: Introducing PiCon – Elea’s New Inline Intelligence for PEF Process Control
With the webinar taking place in just a few days, now is the last chance to register for an exclusive first look at the new PiCon family, Elea’s new generation of intelligent inline tools for PEF process control.
Join Prof. Dr. Stefan Toepfl and Madita Kirchner on 30th June at 3:00 PM (CEST) to discover how AI-driven monitoring can increase process transparency, improve efficiency, and support consistent product quality.
Attendees will learn about PiCon Sense for real-time process monitoring during cutting, PiCon Vision for intelligent belt load and system monitoring, and PiCon Flow for tracking resource consumption in frying processes.
The webinar will be held in English, with live translation options available for international participants. Register now to secure your place and receive the recording after the event.
Flavour Infusion Patent: A New Approach for Snack Innovation
What if flavour could become part of the product itself instead of remaining on the surface?
Elea Technology has secured a new European patent for a PEF-based method that enables additives to be introduced deeper into the plant tissue before final processing steps such as frying and drying.
The approach could help manufacturers achieve more homogeneous flavour distribution, explore new seasoning concepts, and incorporate ingredients directly into the product structure.
Potential applications range from flavours and spice components to colour-related ingredients and their precursors. The innovation highlights how PEF technology can unlock entirely new possibilities for product development in the snack industry.
Gentle Extraction, Greater Value: BK bio and Elea’s PEF Partnership
How can valuable health ingredients be extracted while preserving their natural properties?
BK bio, a leading South Korean producer of functional health ingredients, relies on Pulsed Electric Field (PEF) technology to gently unlock valuable compounds from plant-based raw materials while reducing the need for intensive thermal processing.
Applications range from broccoli and green tea to citrus fruits, seaweed, and medicinal herbs, helping to maximize yields while maintaining quality.
Together, BK bio and Elea have built a successful partnership spanning more than a decade, demonstrating how science, sustainability, and innovation can go hand in hand.
BK bio’s commitment to sustainable innovation was recognized with Korea’s Green Technology Certification for PEF, highlighting the technology’s contribution to environmentally responsible production.
June is slowly coming to an end and the past weeks have been quite busy with several interesting events:
SNACKEX 2026: The Elea Team was on site, engaging in valuable discussions with both existing and potential customers in potato snacks applications. Especially our new PiCon tools were from big interest.
FOOMA 2026: Our partner Correns Corporation presented PEF technology in Tokyo and offered visitors the opportunity to taste and see the difference between PEF-treated and untreated products.
ProPak China 2026: Our business partner Lenno was on site, showcasing how PEF technology can be applied to products such as freeze-dried fruits, potato chips, French fries, juices, and more.
Fispal Tecnologia 2026: Together with our Technical Sales Specialist Sveva Cesari, our business partner Schur had a booth at Fispal, presenting the latest innovations in Elea’s system range.
Enoforum 2026: The largest technical conference dedicated to the wine and viticulture sector. Our team was on-site to share the latest results from our PEF Wine Tour, where we partnered with 9 wineries and successfully treated 13 different grape varieties using our mobile plug-in PEF system.
It was great connecting with so many people, and we’re looking forward to the next events and exhibitions.
